One Wednesday a month The Improv runs an Open Mic/Showcase show featuring talent that runs the gamut from amateurs on stage for the first time to professional comedians working on new material. The audiences are large and the Improv watches these shows to see if there are any hidden comedy stars lurking in unknown corners of Cleveland.
General Manager, Lee Herlands, holds auditions/rehearsals every Wednesday afternoon at 12 pm. Come prepared to perform 3 minutes of original, clean, and funny comedy material to show Lee "what you got". This a great way to break into the clubs. You may have to return several times to get stage time during a real show at night. Lee will critique your set with all the warmth and encouragement of Simon on "American Idol", but he knows what he's talking about and it's the best free advise you'll ever get. Just one thing; DON'T BE LATE!
