New Club!
9/6/2008
I just finished three shows in New Castle Pa, at a new club called Stage 3.

It is a fantastic room. The complex is an attempt by the State of Pa to reinvigorate The Town of New Castle.

It is house in a brand new complex that use to be home of the first movie theatre that Warners Brothers ever opened.

The owner was highly accessible constantly checking in to make sure we were being treated well. The Manager of both the Club and the manager of the bar were both checking in with us to make sure we had plenty to drink and eat.

It was a great time and they all seemed very dedicated to making the room work.

The stage itself was state of the art.

The sounds system included two monitors on the stage and the room was laid out to maximize the comedy experience.

They had a sound man completely dedicated to making the show work and They also had someone running a great lighting system.

Loretta booked the shows and and If you want to contact her she said she would accept emails at funnyfarmdates@aol.com.

If you are not familiar with Loretta she use to book the Funnyfarm and left for reasons I am not totally aware of but she said this room is her chance to get back to doing something she loves.

I can't say enough about how great of a time I had there.

The only negative was one that won't last long. The crowds were tentative and weren't really sure of how they were suppose to respond.

They were very polite and seemed to be like the Country boy that for the first time had to traverse a revolving door.

Wide eyed but willing to take the step.

After the show they sure knew how to act as Jay and I went down to the bar called the Basin and interacted with the people in the show.

We had a blast and want you all to know this is a definite must do on your comedy to do-list!

Amputee inspires in Olympic debut

I don't get it.

BEIXIAOYING TOWN, China (AP) -- Natalie du Toit pulled herself onto the dock and waited for someone to bring her prosthetic leg. She stretched out the other leg -- the one she didn't lose in that horrendous motorcycle accident -- and chatted with an official about the first open water race in Olympic history.

Du Toit didn't finish where she wanted. Not even close.

But just making it to Beijing was a huge victory for anyone who's ever faced a disability.

Here is where I chime in.

Why do we always have to recognize someone who has battled a handicap to do something others do then point out they are not like others.

I have been blessed I have had few things as obstacles in my life. I probably had some I don't recognize cause I am not wired to look for the stuff I can't do but look for the things I can accomplish.

Do not get me wrong. I am not saying this isn't a great story. What I am saying her not having a leg isn't what makes it great.

I know not everyone in the Olympics can win. Some people still have great Olympics just by doing the best they are capable of.

Wouldn't this story be just as good if the title said. "Athlete inspires in Olympic event"?

Having something missing (Jokes) hasn't stopped many comics I have met. I damn sure ain't calling the Associated Press about it.

This, That and the Other.

Don't ya hate when you have the time to sit down and work on your comedy act, but you don't have the desire. See I think this might be what people say you can't do this job unless it is your job. Still of course they are flat out wrong. I can write lots of funny lines when I am in the mood. I just have stuff where my mind is and it isn't on comedy.

I mean the gas prices have kept me home. I also like to have a beer at a show and I do not want to drink and drive so I keep looking for chances to get to a show but not drive. Those happen as often as Dick Chenney gives to Unicef.

I just think there are too many interesting things happening in the world and it is a shame I am not making fun of them.

I think I will have more to say next week but for now I want to comment on Ta DA!

THE REDEEM TEAM!

That is what our fantastic Olympic team is calling itself.

Most of us think they mean for losing in the last Olympics.... NAH! They want redeemed because if they win the GOLD THEY DON'T have to take shit from our Media....

Can you imagine what a pain it is when they have to say why we can't win the gold? LEBRON WHY CAN'T we Win The GOLD? He can't say cause LARRY BROWN WAS AN ASS! Which of course is the real answer.
